City is at a crossroads and is facing many growth-related or "Quality of Life" issues; transportation, water availability, annexation, master-planned communities, adequate school facilities, stormwater run-off, historic preservation, etc.
2007 Population – approximately 10,000, the growth rate of Boerne exceeds the Texas growth rate by over three times and the national rate by over five times.
City recently completed the Boerne Master Plan Update(September 2006) prepared by Gould Evans City has recently revised the Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances to support the Boerne Master Plan.

City purchased 15.5 acres in September 2007 for future Civic Campus and site for the new Boerne Public Library.
City is underway with identifying and securing site for future wastewater treatment facility.
City is currently investigating regional stormwater detention, flood control and watershed protection issues and solutions.
City of Boerne Recreation, Parks & Open Space Plan was adopted by City Council in October 2007.
City recently hired a consultant to review the City of Boerne Major Thoroughfare Plan (2005) and Kendall County Thoroughfare Planning Citizen Committee report (May 2007) and make local and regional transportation recommendations.
City, County and various public agencies have formed a steering committee to review a coordinated GIS data system for all the governments and agencies in the county.
City has recently conducted a Walkable Community Workshop in association with the Alamo Area Council of Governments.
